Ms. Anastasia Korbal
Theatre Director
Ms. Korbal is a professional performer, appearing on national tours, in award-winning regional theatre productions, and in numerous film and TV projects. Her credits include Les Miserables, Little House on the Prairie, and the Annie 30th Anniversry Tour at Madison Square Garden. A graduate of Saint Joseph's University, she trained intensively in theatre and dance while performing leading roles in university productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar, A Little Night Music, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. She also served as a four-year member of SJU's nationally ranked Division I Dance Team, sharpening her skills in performance, choreography, and artistic leadership. Ms. Korbal brings exceptional professional experience and a passion for arts education to our stage.
Audition Information:
Auditions for the Spring Musical are open to all current Holy Cross Prep Academy students (Grades 9 - 12) who wish to participate. We also welcome eighth-grade students who are interested in auditioning - and those eighth-graders will automatically be considered for our new Performing Arts Specialty Scholarship. Whether you're a seasoned performer or new to theatre, everyone is encouraged to try out!

The Sound of Music, March 1972
In March of 1972, the Holy Cross stage came alive with The Sound of Music, a production still remembered with great affection by alumni who filled the auditorium as performers, crew members, and enthusiastic supporters. This treasured poster - capturing Maria against the iconic mountain backdrop - reminds us of a time when our young Lancers poured their hearts into every note, every dance step, and every moment under the lights. Long before our current programs took shape, Holy Cross was already nurturing artists, storytellers, musicians, and dreamers. The 1972 production stands as a beautiful chapter in our school's rich visual and performing arts history, celebrating the creativity, camaraderie, and joy that have always defined the Lancer spirit!​
Alumni Wine & Cheese Reception

Our Alumni are invited home to Cross to enjoy The Sound of Music in 2026 - with our current students leading the way! An Alumni Wine and Cheese Reception in the Art Gallery will take place on Saturday, February 7th, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. We look forward to uniting with our Alumni, families, and friends for a night of music, family, and fun - celebrating the legacy of the arts at Holy Cross!
