School Counseling

At Holy Cross Prep, we prepare students to succeed at the next level with our College Prep curriculum. This is evident in all that we do - from our Collegiate Scheduling to our Dual-Credit Program and our Guarenteed Admission Agreements. Every student who graduates Holy Cross Preparatory Academy will leave confident in their ability to be successful in college and beyond.

Holy Cross Prep x Saint Joseph's University

In 2025, Holy Cross Preparatory Academy entered into a partnership with Saint Joseph's University (PHL). Students who hold a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.75 or higher, and who apply to SJU through Early Action or Early decision, will be eligible for guaranteed admission to SJU and automatic invitation to apply to SJU’s Honors Program. For students applying as a Nursing or Physician Studies-Health Science major, or as a major in the Direct Entry programs of Master of Occupational Therapy, Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Pharmacy, there are additional requirements for mathematics and science.

Beyond admission, students who matriculate through this program will be eligible for a minimum merit and excellence scholarship package valued at $30,000 per year — totaling up to $120,000 across four years plus a $5,000, four-year excellence award (total value of $20,000).

Holy Cross Prep x Mount St. Mary's University

In 2022, Holy Cross Preparatory Academy entered into a partnership with Mount St. Mary’s University (MD). This partnership will guarantee admission and a four year renewable scholarship to graduates of HCPA who enroll at Mount St. Mary’s University. The student must have a 3.00 GPA (85%) – standardized test scores will be considered but are not required. Admitted students will receive, at minimum, a $25,000 four year award with a total value of $100,000.

The student must maintain an appropriate, pre-determined GPA based on the value of the scholarship in order to renew annually. The award can only be received for four years total, and the scholarship is not transferrable to other institutions.

College Preparatory Education

Our Counseling Office utilizes Scoir to guide each student’s college application process.

College Admissions offices visit our school throughout the year to present to our students.

Holy Cross Preparatory Academy hosts an annual College Fair during the school day, with over 50 colleges in attendance.

Collegiate Block Scheduling prepares students for their future academic careers.

Student Mental Health

Our School Counseling Office is always open to students of all grade levels.

School Counselors are trained in crisis management.

The office collaborates with guardians, faculty, staff, and outside professionals to ensure students receive the care and resources they need to thrive.
