Let's have some friendly competition and good, clean fun - and support Holy Cross Prep!

 

Just like the Class Challenge, alumni and current students/families can compete in this bracket contest. Classes will be assigned brackets and seeded based on participation during the 2023 Year-End Fundraising Campaign, and will be given points (based on donations) for each round of games based on donations.

OFFICIAL RULES

​

The Holy Cross Prep Academy MARCH MADNESS PARTICIPATION FUNDRAISER is a five-week contest to determine the greatest Class / Group at HCPA based on participation. Contest campaign kicks off on Friday, March 1, 2024, and ends April 8, 2024.

​

MARCH MADNESS WILL CONSIST OF FOUR BRACKETS – Maroon, White, Black and Gray. The brackets will contain 64 total teams composed of all alumni classes from 1961 through 2023, and the current student body.

Classes will be assigned brackets and seeded based on participation during the 2023 Class Challenge.

Here is the schedule of game rounds:

​

First Round – March 1 to March 10 - COMPLETE

Second Round – March 11 to March 17 - COMPLETE

Sweet Sixteen – March 18 to March 24 - COMPLETE

Elite Eight – March 25 to March 31 - COMPLETE

Final Four – April 1 to April 5 - COMPLETE

Championship – April 6 to April 8- IN PROGRESS

 

Game Participation points will be awarded to teams during each round, based on online contributions. Teams that have the most participation points in the round advance. Points do not carry to the next round- after each round, each team (class year) advancing will go back to zero to start the next game.

 

Participation Points will be credited as follows:

  • Foul Shot – 1 Point for any participation

  • Field Goal – 2 Points for any donation of $5 to $14

  • Lay-Up - 3 Points for any donation of $15 to $24

  • Three Pointer – 4 Points for any donation of $25 to $49

  • Buzzer Beater – 6 Points for any donation of $50 to $74

  • Cutting the Nets – 8 Points for any donation of $75 to $99

  • Dunk - 10 Points for donation of $100 or more

  • Double-Double – 10 Points for a Recurring Donation of $20 or more (points will be added to total of each round!)

SCORING EXAMPLE:  A Class of 1968 alum contributes (+1) $20 (+3) for 4 TOTAL POINTS!

​

AND… if your class year is knocked out, you can provide an “assist” to another class be designating your points to one of the remaining classes in each round!

 

Minimum online credit card contribution is $5. Current HCPA students can pay cash in the Main Office (minimum student participation level is $1).
